In view of recent Air quality standard notified by Govt of India where measurement of PM 2.5 dusts has been made mandatory besides other parameters for defining the quality of ambient air. An impactor based PM2.5 sampling system as an attachment of High Volume Respirable Dust Sampler has been developed by Ecotech which meet requirement of Pm 2.5 sampling.
Work Environmental Sampler are commonly used world over for measurement of PM 2.5 dust. USEPA has already standardised design of such impactors which work on sampling flow rate of 1m3/hr.
Ecotech developed AAS 190 can be attached to RDS of any make thus it is now possible to monitor PM2.5 simultaneously with other parameters like PM10, SO2,NO2, NH3 and O3 using RDS.
Key component of the attachment is WINS IMPACTOR which is accurately fabricated using CNC machine as per design of USEPA. Modular design of attachment, tubing and other fitments made this system simple and most suitable for simultaneous PM2.5 monitoring using RDS. AAS190 is easy to operate and work successfully in harsh Indian climatic conditions fitted with flow totalizer unit which give accurate total volume of air passed through filter.
Major advantage of AAS190 is that it work as an attachment to existing Respirable Dust Sampler where no additional suction pump and TTR, Timer are required for sample collection.
Collected PM10 dust of RDS filter can be analyzed for heavy metals Ni, As, Pb and Benzopyrene thus by attaching AAS 190 with RDS one can do all required parameters notified in standard using single instrument having gaseous attachment and Pm 2.5 sampling attachment. Advantages
